Passengers of cancelled flights from the UAE spoke about the situation at airports

Tour operators of cancelled flights from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were negligent towards passengers. Tourists on their way to Moscow told Izvestia about this on June 14.
According to Svetlana, a passenger on the cancelled FZ-965 flight, the representative of the Russian Express company was not at the airport, and the tour operator also did not provide information on departure.
"It was just canceled. There were no representatives of [the tour operator]. They just said at the check—in desk, "The flight has been canceled," another tourist, Nika, added.
Artur Abdyukhanov, head of the press service of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), told Izvestia that Russian airlines continue to operate regular flights to and from UAE airports.
"Due to the closure of Iran's airspace, carriers have adjusted routes to ensure flight safety. They have become longer as they pass through the airspace of Egypt, Oman or Pakistan, depending on the airline's choice. Now flights can take 1-2 hours longer, and refueling is possible in some cities like Samara or Volgograd," he said.
According to Abdyukhanov, several domestic airlines operate flights between Russia and the UAE, with up to 50 round-trip flights per week. Tickets are available in both directions.
"If the flight is delayed for 2-3 hours, then all passengers should be provided with soft drinks, according to aviation regulations. In case of a 4-5—hour flight delay, hot meals are provided," he added.
It is specified that if the flight is delayed for more than 8 hours, then passengers should be accommodated in hotels. It is also necessary to monitor the messages of the Russian Foreign Ministry and consulates General on official websites and on social networks.
"The Russian Union of Travel Industry hopes that the situation with tourists from Russia will improve and stabilize in the near future," Abdyukhanov stressed.
The day before, Flydubai canceled 22 flights for June 13 and 14 to Dubai from ten airports in the Russian Federation. In turn, the Russian Embassy in the UAE reported that it is closely monitoring the situation around flights of Russian and Emirati companies to Moscow due to the closure of the airspace of Iran, Israel and other countries in the Middle East region.
