Kovalchuk pointed out the importance of modernizing the nuclear triad

Russian President Vladimir Putin made the right decisions by modernizing and strengthening the nuclear triad. This was announced on Saturday, June 14, by Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center.

"And today you and I are alive and living in a sovereign state only because the right decisions were made many decades ago. And today our president has made the main right decisions again," he said.

As part of the opening of the traveling exhibition "Science of the Great Victory" in Veliky Novgorod, Kovalchuk noted the role of the head of state, in which the nuclear triad was strengthened to such an extent that "today there are no people willing to try it on themselves."

The exhibition itself is dedicated to the landmark achievements of our scientists during the Great Patriotic War. The stands contain information about the creation of legendary weapons, unique means of communication at that time, and medical preparations.

In addition, it tells about the Soviet atomic project, thanks to which the country managed to establish a geopolitical balance in the world.

It is noted that the exhibition was a joint project of the Kurchatov Institute, the Polytechnic Museum and the National Center for Historical Memory under the President of Russia. Also, the exhibition will soon appear in other cities of the Russian Federation.

On June 11, Vladimir Putin declared that the nuclear triad remains the guarantor of sovereignty. According to the head of state, at the moment the share of modern weapons and equipment in the strategic nuclear forces is 95%.
