The police detained a Russian deported from the United States who was on the international wanted list at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport. This was announced on June 14 by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation with reference to the official representative of the department Irina Volk.

"The person involved was on the international wanted list at the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Irkutsk region. He is accused of violating traffic rules and operating vehicles, which negligently caused the death of a person," the press service wrote, the message was published on their website.

According to preliminary information, in November 2017, a man driving a car ran over a pedestrian in Irkutsk, who died from injuries sustained as a result of an accident. A criminal case was opened into the incident.

It is specified that the suspect left the territory of Russia. He was later put on the wanted list through Interpol channels.

"Thanks to the cooperation of Russian and American law enforcement agencies, the defendant was deported to the Russian Federation and detained," concluded Volk.

On February 7, it was reported that Turkey, at the request of the Russian side, would extradite Olim Makhmudov, accused of murder and robbery, to Moscow. It is specified that he will be brought to Moscow accompanied by employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) of Russia and the Interpol National Security Service.
