Former Iranian Defense Minister Amir Khatami has assumed the post of commander of the army of the Islamic Republic. This was reported on June 13 in the Telegram channel of the Fars agency.

"By decree of the leader of the revolution, Major General Amir Khatami became the commander of the army," the publication says.
