The radiation level outside the nuclear facility in Iran's Natanz has not changed. This was announced on June 13 by the Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi.

"The radiation level outside the Natanz facility remained unchanged," he said. Grossi's words are quoted by the official IAEA page on the social network X (ex.Twitter).

The IAEA Director General added that alpha particle contamination inside a nuclear facility can be controlled using appropriate protective measures.

Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country earlier in the day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to attack Iran's nuclear infrastructure, as well as ballistic missile factories. He called the beginning of the operation a success.

According to the Fars news agency, at least 78 people were killed and 329 injured in Israeli strikes on residential areas of Tehran.

The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned Israel's unprovoked attack and pointed out that the state violated the UN Charter by its move. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also noted that Russia is concerned and condemns the sharp escalation of tension between Israel and Iran.
