- The family of the deceased Izvestia correspondent Fedorchak was given a medal from the Investigative Committee of Russia

The parents of the deceased Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak were awarded the medal of Valor and Bravery. This was reported on June 13 in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.
"By order of Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Sergeevich Fedorchak, a military correspondent at Izvestia, was posthumously awarded the departmental medal of Valor and Bravery," the statement said.
It is specified that the award was given to the parents of the correspondent by the head of the Main Investigative Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Vladimir Terentyev.
"In his reports, he did not just cover a special military operation, but sought to show the heroic appearance of Russian fighters in the harsh conditions of front—line reality," he noted.
Terentyev added that a separate exhibition dedicated to the activities of Russian war correspondents will be created in the museum of the regional administration of the United Kingdom.
On April 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Fedorchak the Order of Courage posthumously. In addition, the award was awarded to the deceased correspondents of Channel One, Anna Prokofieva, and the operator of the Zvezda TV channel, Andrei Panov.
