- Pashinyan warned about the impossibility of simultaneous membership of Armenia in the EAEU and the EU

Armenia will not be able to be a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union (EU) at the same time. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on June 13.
"Of course, we understand that we cannot be both members of the EAEU and the EU. And, obviously, at some point in the future we will need to make a decision," Pashinyan said at the GLOBSEC 2025 forum in Prague, his speech was quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to the head of government, the decision on the future of Armenia should be made by the citizens of the country, but under the leadership of the government and parliament. Until then, the authorities will continue to implement reforms aimed at bringing them closer to EU standards.
On May 7, Pashinyan indicated that Armenia was not going to worsen relations with Russia while building contacts with the West. He noted that the country is guided by a balanced foreign policy, which does not envisage building ties with some states at the expense of deteriorating relations with others. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 21 that Russia is ready to develop relations with Armenia in every possible way.
