On June 13, the Russian government expanded the list of prohibited narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances to include 14 new items.

According to TASS, with reference to the relevant decree, the new list includes substances dangerous to human life and health from among synthetic cannabinoids and opioids. The turnover of four types of psychotropic substances, including clothizolam and cyclotizolam, was also restricted.

In addition, the document reduces the amount of mephedrone by 2.5 times, which will be considered large and especially large in criminal articles. Previously, 0.2 g of mephedrone was considered a significant size, 2.5 g was considered large, and 500 g was considered especially large. The threshold has now been lowered to 0.2, 1, and 200 grams, respectively.

Irina Volk, the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, reported on June 4 that in the Chelyabinsk Region, law enforcement agencies had liquidated a large drug laboratory in which about 500 kg of banned substances were synthesized every month. The participants were taken into custody.
