The media reported on the decision Netherlands to raise defense spending

The outgoing Dutch government has decided to increase defense spending to 5% of gross domestic product (GDP). This was announced on June 13 by the NOS TV channel.
"The Netherlands is increasing its defense budget to 3.5% of gross domestic product. <...> In addition, the government wants to spend 1.5% of GDP on things that benefit defense," the publication says.
It is noted that in this case, the additional costs of the authorities in the defense industry will amount to about €16-19 billion per year.
Yle TV and radio company reported on June 7 that representatives of Finnish parties in opposition opposed the government's plans to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP. In their opinion, due to the growth of military spending, the social security sector may suffer.
