The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the liberation of the village of Komar in the DPR

The Vostok group of troops liberated the Komar settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), breaking through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the south Donetsk direction. This was announced on June 13 in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense, publishing footage of the work of the Russian Armed Forces.

It is specified that Komar was an important logistical hub and an element of the enemy's long-term defense. The settlement was covered by a "natural water barrier and dense buildings," which made it difficult for the advancing units to reach.

Soldiers of the 336th separate Marine brigade and the 37th separate motorized rifle brigade broke through the echelon defense line of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and entered the settlement. After the buildings were cleared, including the basements, Russian flags were raised over the village.

As a result of the operation, dozens of units of Ukrainian military equipment were destroyed, and more than 1,100 buildings and structures were cleared. The Vostok group continues to advance deep into the enemy's defenses, breaking defensive formations and demoralizing the militants of the Kiev regime, the Defense Ministry noted.

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov congratulated the Russian soldiers on the liberation of the Komar settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The head of the department thanked the command and personnel of the 336th Separate Guards Bialystok Marine Brigade of the Orders of Zhukov, Suvorov and Alexander Nevsky for their loyalty to duty and oath, and expressed confidence that they would continue to ensure the security of the country.
