Despite the fact that the United States issued an ultimatum to Iran two months ago on the nuclear deal, the Islamic Republic still has a second chance to accept the terms of the United States. This was announced on June 13 by US President Donald Trump.

"Two months ago, I gave Iran a 60-day ultimatum <...>. Now they may have a second chance!" the American leader wrote on the Truth Social network.

In addition, the American leader, in a conversation with ABC News, stressed that the nuclear deal would help avoid escalation, but Tehran did not take advantage of this.

"They got hit hard, very hard. They were hit as hard as possible. And that's not all. There will be much more," Trump said in a telephone conversation with an ABC News correspondent.

On the same day, Trump expressed hope that negotiations between the United States and Iran on the Iranian nuclear program would be able to take place despite attacks by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Tehran and other cities. At the same time, he noted that he had previously known about the beginning of the Israeli military operation.

Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country earlier in the day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to attack Iran's nuclear infrastructure, as well as ballistic missile factories. He called the beginning of the operation a success.

The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned Israel's unprovoked attack and pointed out that the state violated the UN Charter with its move.
