A spontaneous memorial is beginning to form near the Iranian Embassy in Moscow amid Israeli strikes. The footage was published by Izvestia on Friday, June 13.

They show flowers that people bring to the building of the diplomatic mission in the Russian capital. It is located on Pokrovsky Boulevard.

Earlier in the day, Israel declared a national emergency and launched a preemptive strike against Iran. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the aim is to attack the nuclear infrastructure of the Islamic Republic.

The incident killed several high-ranking Iranian commanders, whom Israel called "ruthless killers." In turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes on Iran and pointed to a violation of the UN Charter. The Federal Air Transport Agency also recommended not flying in the airspace of Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Iran.

Igor Nikulin, a political scientist and former member of the United Nations (UN) disarmament commission, told Izvestia that Tehran has every opportunity to respond to the strikes.
