France and Germany are provoking a full-scale conflict in the Middle East with the prospect of a global confrontation. This was announced on June 13 by Leonid Slutsky, the leader of the LDPR faction in the State Duma.

"Israeli attacks on Iran's military and civilian infrastructure, as well as nuclear facilities, are fraught with a large-scale escalation with consequences extending far beyond the region. Paris and Berlin are provoking a full—scale war in the Middle East with their statements," Slutsky wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to the MP, these steps by France and Germany may lead to a global confrontation. The parliamentarian stressed that Russia stands for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Middle East and condemns Israel's attacks on Iran.

"The international community must make every effort to prevent further aggression!" concluded Slutsky.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barraud said on TV INFO that Paris confirms Israel's right to self-defense against any attack. His German counterpart Johann Vadefuhl stated that Iran's nuclear program poses a threat to the entire region and especially to Israel.

Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country earlier in the day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to attack Iran's nuclear infrastructure, as well as ballistic missile factories.

The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned Israel's unprovoked attack and pointed out that the state violated the UN Charter with its move.
