The Iranian army will respond to Israeli strikes on Iranian territory, after which Tel Aviv will regret its actions. This was stated on June 13 by the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Peseshkian, in his address to the Iranian people.

"The legitimate and powerful response of the Islamic Republic of Iran (to Israel's actions. — Ed.) will make the enemy regret his stupid actions," the president said, the text of the appeal is provided on his official website.

He called on Iranians to maintain unity and solidarity so that the country could face this difficult moment "as courageously as possible."

Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country earlier in the day. At least five people died as a result of the incident. In addition, two more people were killed and six injured due to Israeli strikes on the city of Tabriz.

Later, the Russian Foreign Ministry condemned Israel's strikes on Iran and pointed to a violation of the UN Charter. They stressed that Israel's strikes on Iranian territory had disrupted multilateral efforts aimed at reducing confrontation and a diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear program.
