Israel has attacked the cities of Gasre Shirin and Kangavar in western Iran.

The Iranian cities of Gasre-Shirin and Kangavar in western Iran have been subjected to a new attack. This was reported on June 13 in the Telegram channel of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the Armed Forces).

"A few minutes ago, Qasr Shirin and Kangawar were shelled at several points," the publication says.

Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country earlier in the day. At least five people died as a result of the incident. In addition, two more people were killed and six injured due to Israeli strikes on the city of Tabriz.

Netanyahu later said that the purpose of Israel's military operation is to attack Iran's nuclear infrastructure, as well as ballistic missile manufacturing plants. He called the beginning of the operation a success. The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned Israel's unprovoked attack and pointed out that the state violated the UN Charter with its move.
