The European Union (EU) has transferred to Ukraine the next tranche of €1 billion in macro-financial assistance under the current program. This was announced on June 13 by the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen.
"Today we are allocating a new €1 billion to Ukraine," she wrote on her page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Von der Leyen also said that since the beginning of the special military operation, EU countries have provided support to Ukraine in the amount of € 150 billion.
The allocation of the previous tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of €1 billion was announced on March 20. In total, the EU has committed to provide Ukraine with about €18 billion in loans repaid from proceeds from Russian assets under the agreed G7 loan of €45 billion.
