Strengthening of strategic partnership with Moscow discussed in Beijing

On June 13, the capital of the People's Republic of China (PRC) hosted the conference "Cities of the Future. The Synergy of Strategic Partnership between Moscow and Beijing", which brought together more than 400 experts, representatives of government agencies and businesses. This was announced by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.
"The main result of the forum is seven agreements at once between entrepreneurs and the city structures of Moscow and Beijing. The documents are aimed at strengthening relations in the trade industry, the hospitality industry, and the museum and educational sphere," Natalia Sergunina said.
One of the central events was the signing of the agreements of the Moscow Export Center (IEC). The memorandum with the Yabaolu International Chamber of Commerce provides for joint projects for business representatives, including the organization of training programs, conferences, exhibitions and fairs.
Another agreement was signed by the IEC with a large Chinese logistics company and is aimed at simplifying the export of Moscow technological products and increasing their recognition in China.
In the first quarter of 2025, Moscow's non-commodity exports to China increased by almost 30 percent compared to the same period in 2024. According to the results of last year, China's share in Moscow's total non-primary non-energy exports amounted to 8.5 percent, with 72 percent of supplies coming from high-tech products.
"Moscow helps entrepreneurs enter the Chinese market: it ensures the participation of the capital's brands in industry forums and exhibitions, provides grants, organizes training programs and business missions. Last year, the volume of exports supported by the city to China exceeded seven billion rubles," Natalia Sergunina noted.
The products of Moscow manufacturers are already represented on the largest Chinese marketplaces, including Tmall.com , Taobao.com , JD.com , Pinduoduo.com and 1688.com . The Douyin platform is expected to be launched by the end of the year. In addition, the capital's companies will participate in 12 business missions in various cities of China.
