- Manturov spoke about Russia's plans to send a small nuclear power plant to the moon

Russia plans to deliver a low-power nuclear power plant (NPP) to the Moon. This was announced on June 13 by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
"First, we need to work out all the technologies on the Moon, and then move on to other planets. When developing technologies on the Moon, in particular, with our Chinese partners, it is necessary to provide the station with energy. We are talking about delivering our low—power nuclear power plant to the moon," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Manturov specified that a small nuclear power plant would provide energy to a space station on the Moon, as well as develop technologies for further space exploration.
In his opinion, it is impossible to talk about the far space without exploring near space (which includes the Moon). First of all, the Moon and Venus will be studied, and only then Mars.
On June 5, Roscosmos reported that specialists had completed tests of the Luna-27 lander in conditions close to real conditions. It is noted that the tests confirmed the operability of the device, while Luna-27 was tested with simulation of lunar gravity and contact with analog soil.
