This was stated to Izvestia on June 13 by an expert from the Association of Military Political Scientists, head of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Russian University of Economics. Plekhanova Andrey Koshkin, commenting on the start of the massive Israeli operation.

"Iran is more self-contained and somehow more worried that a fire would not break out in the Middle East. After all, it is a powerful state, and, in conditions when everything is not so good in general, a lot depends on its actions for stability in the Middle East," Koshkin said.

At the same time, he continued, Israel's plan to carry out sustained attacks against Iran is gaining momentum. According to the expert, the US reaction will depend on Tehran's further actions.

In addition, he noted that Iran has a powerful potential and resource to respond.

"As a rule, Iran always takes a pause, quite a long one," Koshkin added.
