The US Embassy in Israel on Friday, June 13, ordered its civil servants and their family members to take the nearest shelter until further notice amid the escalation of the situation in the region due to the Israeli attack on Iran.

"Due to the current security situation, the U.S. Embassy has ordered all U.S. government employees and their family members to take the nearest shelter until further notice," the embassy said in a statement.

The diplomatic mission reminded American citizens of the need to exercise caution and raise awareness of personal safety.

In response to security-related incidents, and without prior notice, the U.S. Embassy may further restrict or prohibit U.S. government employees and their family members from traveling to certain areas of Israel, it added.

The news is being updated.
