On June 13, phone messages were sent to residents of Israeli Tel Aviv urging them to find a bomb shelter.

"A state of emergency has begun in Israel throughout the country. At three o'clock in the morning, air alarms sounded, sirens woke up residents. And the residents of Israel also received messages from the Israeli army on their mobile phones, saying: "Find the nearest bomb shelter," said Nikita Kulyukhin, a correspondent for Izvestia from Tel Aviv.

Currently, school classes have been canceled in the state, as well as work shifts for most Israelis.

The airspace over the country is closed. The aircraft already in the air, about to land in Israel, were deployed "in the last minutes" — they had to land in other countries.

"There are almost no people on the streets yet, some are driving cars. Here behind me is one of Israel's main highways, in the center of Tel Aviv. There are a few people who are passing through, the situation is still calm, because it is unclear when Iran's response will be," Kulyukhin said.

According to him, some residents have already started stocking up on food, water and everything necessary in case of an emergency.

Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country earlier in the day. As a result, the head of the General Staff of the Iranian army and several high-ranking nuclear scientists were killed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to attack Iran's nuclear infrastructure, as well as ballistic missile factories. The Israeli side called the attack "necessary for self-defense."
