The M777 howitzer factory opened in the UK

The M777 howitzer factory is being recreated in Sheffield. The British government announced this on its website on June 12.
"A new artillery factory has opened in Sheffield, creating 200 skilled jobs," the report said.
The opening of the plant was attended by British Defense Minister John Healy. According to the government, the production that has begun will support the government's current policy towards change and will support more than 60 enterprises in the international arms supply chain.
"Successful export deals worth more than 25 million pounds have made it possible to create this plant, demonstrating the design and engineering skills of the British defense industry around the world," the government's press service said.
The facility covers an area of 94,000 square feet.
Earlier, on June 11, military expert Boris Jerelievsky said that the UK had transferred Challenger tanks to Ukraine that it did not need. The expert noted that these tanks are not Britain's strong point, since its concept of military construction does not involve powerful armored forces.
