Trump expressed disappointment over the lack of agreements between Russia and Ukraine
US President Donald Trump said on Thursday, June 12, that he was disappointed by the lack of agreements on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
According to him, it was possible to reach agreements on this issue a long time ago.
"It is very important to achieve this in order to stop [the conflict]," Trump said in an interview with reporters, the meeting was broadcast on the White House YouTube channel.
Trump said he was "very close" to abandoning mediation in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Earlier, on June 12, Russian Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchiev presented his credentials to the American leader. The day before, Trump called his last conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin good. He once again stressed that he was on excellent terms with his Russian counterpart, and said that during the conversation he had discussed with him the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
On June 10, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced that Moscow and Washington would soon hold a third round of talks to discuss bilateral irritants. Darchiev later clarified that the consultations would take place in Moscow.
