A resident of China, 35-year-old Ming Hengcai, quit his job as a taxi driver four years ago and chose a hermit lifestyle in a cave. This was reported on June 12 by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) newspaper.

"A 35-year-old man from China, who believes that work and marriage are superfluous concepts, has been living in a cave for four years," the newspaper reported.

Min said he found the job pointless. Previously, he worked 10 hours a day for 10,000 yuan ($1,400 USA) to pay off a debt owed to relatives. At the same time, the man has a large debt in the bank, which neither he nor his family were able to close. This was one of the reasons for living in the cave, which Ming built for 40,000 yuan ($6,000).

"Min wakes up at 8:00 every day, spends the whole day reading, walking and working on the land. He goes to bed at 22:00 and mostly eats the vegetables he planted," the newspaper noted.

Despite his reclusive lifestyle, Min uses the money to buy basic necessities. However, he considers a happy marriage a rarity and a "waste of time and money."

According to the newspaper, Min talks about his life on social networks with 40 thousand subscribers.

Earlier, on December 20, 2022, in Syktyvkar in the Komi Republic, rescuers evacuated a sick frozen hermit from the forest. As a result, he was taken to a hospital in the village of Yasnog and hospitalized.
