Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga should be upset about the bodies of dead Ukrainian soldiers, whom Kiev does not want to receive, and not because of the celebration of Russia Day. On June 12, she wrote about it in her Telegram channel.

"A normal person would say that it was "especially unpleasant" for him to see how refrigerated trucks with the bodies of Ukrainians were forbidden by his owner to be taken away for a decent burial," she said, commenting on Sibiga's words that it was "especially unpleasant" for him to read the news about congratulations on Russia Day from representatives of a number of countries.

Zakharova also recalled the words of the writer Nikolai Gogol that someone else's joy causes more frustration than their own grief.

On June 10, Zakharova said that Kiev's refusal to take away the bodies of the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) killed during a special military operation was a disgrace to the whole world. Zakharova stressed that the bodies of those authorized to fight for the country and the people, as well as those sent to defend, should be honorably interred according to the canons of their professed religion.
