An Israeli strike on Iran is not inevitable, but it is quite possible. This was announced on June 12 by US President Donald Trump.

"I don't want to say that this is (an Israeli strike. It is inevitable, but it looks like this is something that may well happen," he said, speaking to reporters at the White House.

The US president noted that he considers it unacceptable for Iran to have nuclear weapons. According to him, Washington is ready to cooperate with Tehran on condition that it abandons its nuclear program.

On June 11, CBS News reported that Israel was fully prepared to launch an operation in Iran. The United States expects Iran to retaliate against some American facilities in Iraq, the media said. On the same day, The New York Times clarified that Iran had already developed a retaliatory strike plan in case of a potential attack from Israel.
