The only known survivor of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner crash in western India turned out to be 40-year-old British citizen Vishwash Kumar Ramesh. This was reported on June 12 by The Telegraph newspaper.
"Vishwash Kumar Ramesh said that he was surrounded by bodies before getting up and running out of the plane," the publication says.
It is specified that the survivor of the plane crash was sitting in place next to the emergency exit. According to the newspaper, Vivash Ramesh was returning to London after flying to India to visit his family with his brother, who was also on the plane. He is currently hospitalized with various chest and leg injuries.
Indian Interior Minister Amit Shah, as reported by the ANI agency on the social network X (ex. Twitter), met with a survivor of a plane crash. An official visited him at the hospital. In the presented footage, he is wearing a blue T-shirt.
On June 12, India TV, citing local police, reported that one of the passengers on board the Boeing 787 Dreamliner that crashed in India survived. After the discovery, the man was hospitalized.
The plane crash in the residential area near the airport of Ahmedabad became known earlier that day. There were 242 passengers on board, including two pilots and 10 flight attendants. Later it became known that the airliner crashed into the building of a dormitory for doctors.
According to the latest data, more than 290 people died as a result of the disaster. According to the NDTV channel, the cause of the crash of the Air India flight could be a collision with birds.
