Russia will sign intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in the field of peaceful atom with Mali and Burkina Faso. The relevant orders of the Government of the Russian Federation were published on June 12 on the official portal of legal information.

According to the documents, Russia will help Mali and Burkina Faso in the construction of nuclear power plants (NPP) and research nuclear reactors. Russia will also provide nuclear fuel to these countries.

It is specified that Rosatom State Corporation has been instructed to sign the agreement on the Russian side.

On May 13, Brazilian Minister of Mines and Energy Alexandri Silveira announced that Brazil would begin construction of small nuclear power plants jointly with Rosatom. According to him, Rosatom is currently the only company in the world that has small nuclear reactors in commercial use.
