The German authorities plan to allocate an additional €1.9 billion to Ukraine for the purchase of weapons and ammunition. This was announced on June 12 by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius at a joint briefing with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

"And now we are planning another €1.9 billion — it has not yet been finalized, but it is in the process of being developed," the Bild newspaper quoted him as saying.

Pistorius noted that this year Germany has already allocated €4 billion to support Ukraine, subsequently the amount was increased to €7 billion.

"We will provide funds so that the Ukrainian government and the Ukrainian armed forces can purchase equipment from the Ukrainian defense industry, whose capacities can be better used in this way," the minister added.

On May 28, Pistorius promised military support to Ukraine in the amount of € 5 billion. It is noted that during the meeting with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Umerov, the official stressed the immutability of Germany's position and said that Berlin would like to contribute to the joint efforts of Kiev's partners, including in the field of air defense.
