Russia plans to deploy the first nuclear power plant on the moon. This was announced on June 12 by Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation.

He noted that the space achievements of the Russian Federation are the embodiment of the power of national character. Roscosmos plans to scale the orbital constellation in order to increase the speed of broadband Internet access, as well as improve rockets and spacecraft, he said.

"The tasks include the creation of a new Russian orbital station, which will replace the ISS, and the deployment of the first nuclear power plant on the Moon, the foundation for future lunar bases," Bakanov stressed, his words are quoted in the Telegram channel of the state corporation.

On June 5, Roscosmos reported that specialists had completed tests of the Luna-27 lander in conditions close to real conditions. It is noted that the tests confirmed the operability of the device, while Luna-27 was tested with simulation of lunar gravity and contact with analog soil.
