In Yakutia, a criminal case was opened after an emergency at a mine

A criminal case on violation of industrial safety rules, which negligently resulted in the death of a person, was initiated after an incident at a mine in Yakutia. This was reported on June 12 in the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.

"The East Yakutsk interdistrict Investigative Department of the SU IC of Russia for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person by negligence)," the department's Telegram channel says.

According to the investigation, on June 12, 2025, a rock collapse occurred at the Sarylakh mine in the Oymyakon district on the horizon with a mark of 286 m. During the dismantling of the rubble, a man's body was found without signs of life, and the second victim was removed and hospitalized.

The press service noted that a complex of investigative measures is being carried out, expert examinations have been appointed, technical and other documentation is being studied in order to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

On June 11, the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) in Primorsky Krai reported that a criminal case had been opened in the Reliable district of Primorsky Krai in connection with the fall and injury of a worker. The investigative bodies of the TFR initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of safety rules during construction or other work").
