In response to the adoption of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) anti-Iranian resolution, Iran is launching a new uranium enrichment center, which will be located in a safe location. This was announced on June 12 in a statement by the country's Foreign Ministry and the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI).

The corresponding order was given by the head of the AEOI, Mohammad Eslami. It is noted that all centrifuges in the new center will be replaced with more modern ones.

"The head of the AEOI has given the necessary orders to launch a new [uranium] enrichment center in a safe location and replace first-generation centrifuges... [at the nuclear facility] in Fordo for modern sixth—generation centrifuges," the text on the UAE website says.

It is also indicated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran condemn the actions of the United States and the "European trio" from Great Britain, Germany and France, which supported the adoption of the anti-Iranian resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors.

Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's representative to the international organizations in Vienna, commenting on the IAEA's decision, noted that Russia, China and Burkina Faso voted against the document.

"The anti-Iran resolution was adopted by the IAEA Board of Governors with 19 votes in favor. Three countries (Burkina Faso, China and Russia) voted "against", 11 governors abstained. Thus, the resolution did not receive broad and convincing support," the diplomat said in his Telegram channel.

On June 2, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai said that the lifting of US sanctions against Iran is a "fundamental element" of cooperation between the two countries. Bagai also commented on the attempt of the US Congress to adopt a resolution on the imposition of sanctions against Iran, calling it a clear contradiction. On June 9, US President Donald Trump announced that a new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran on the nuclear deal would be held on June 12.

Prior to that, on June 8, Permanent Representative Ulyanov predicted that the IAEA draft resolution on the Iranian nuclear program would not bring positive results. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 5 that Russia could take part in negotiations on the nuclear program between Iran and the United States. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin will join the dialogue if necessary.
