Iran has already developed a retaliatory strike plan in case of a potential attack from Israel. The New York Times wrote about this on June 11.

"Iranian military and government officials have already met to discuss their response to a potential Israeli strike. <...> Tehran's response plan may include an immediate counterattack against Israel using hundreds of ballistic missiles," the media reported, citing a source.

It is noted that concern about the strike and the prospects of retaliation forced the United States to allow the voluntary departure of family members of American military personnel from the Middle East. Officials in the United States and Europe are inclined to believe that Israel is still preparing to strike Iran soon.

"This step could further escalate the situation in the Middle East and disrupt or delay the efforts of the administration of [US President Donald] Trump's efforts to broker a deal that would block Iran's path to building a nuclear bomb," the article says.

Also on June 11, CBS News reported that Israel was fully prepared to launch an operation in Iran. The United States expects Iran to retaliate against some American facilities in Iraq, the media said.

In turn, the Reuters news agency reported that the United States is preparing a partial evacuation of the embassy in Iraq amid the escalation. At the same time, both American and Iraqi sources of the agency did not specify the specific reasons that influenced this decision.
