US President Donald Trump, after several conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, managed to conclude that Moscow and Washington need to restore relations. This was announced on June 12 by Russian Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchiev.

The diplomat noted that he managed to have a brief conversation with Trump after the ceremony of presenting his credentials at the White House, which took place the day before.

"I think the most important thing is that we're talking, that we've finally moved on from monologues <... to have a fairly pragmatic conversation. It's not an easy conversation, the layers are very large, but the road will be mastered by the one walking," he told Rossiya 24 TV channel.

Darchiev added that the American leader not only treats his Russian counterpart well personally, but also understands the need to maintain contacts at the level of the two countries as a whole.

"In addition to the good personal chemistry between the presidents (of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. — Ed.), there is also an understanding, an understanding from President Trump that Russia and America should be together," the diplomat said.
