Police used water cannons during riots in Northern Ireland

In the city of Ballymena in Northern Ireland, police used water cannons against demonstrators amid riots. This was reported on Thursday, June 12, by SkyNews TV channel with reference to the police.
"Last night, for the first time, the police used water cannons on one of the streets of Ballymena," the publication says.
They clarified that the police had issued a warning before.
At the same time, as the article says, the situation is less tense than in the previous two evenings of riots.
On June 10, riots broke out in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, after a teenager was raped by migrants. For several hours, rioters threw molotov cocktails, fireworks, heavy masonry and bricks at the police. Several law enforcement officers were injured.
