Rock collapsed at the Sarylakh mine in Yakutia


In the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), a rock collapse occurred at the Sarylakh mine in the Oymyakon district. This was announced on June 12 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region in the Telegram channel.
"It has been established that a rock collapse occurred on the horizon with a mark of 286 m during the cleaning work," the statement said.
There were 25 people on the horizon at the time of the accident. According to reports, there are two people under the rubble. A paramilitary mountain rescue unit (VGSO) consisting of 17 people and three pieces of equipment is working on site.
"There is no smoke or dust in the mine," the ministry said.
Earlier, on June 4, one person died in a rock collapse at the Kamchatka Baranyevsky mine. Mountain rescuers of the paramilitary mountain rescue unit were involved in the evacuation of his body, said Sergey Lebedev, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory.
