In Russia, it is necessary to prepare bases and airfields for new weapons systems in advance so that they do not have to be left in the "open field." This was announced on June 11 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"It is important to calculate the needs in advance and begin preparing the infrastructure for the deployment of new weapons systems, including bases, arsenals, airfields, and so on," the head of state said during a meeting on the state armament program for 2027-2036.

The Russian leader also noted that the finances that will be used for the construction of such facilities should be approved in a "separate line" in the program. At the same time, Putin said that he is regularly asked to transfer these expenses to other less important items. As a result, the weapons systems find themselves in an "open field," the Russian president stressed.

Earlier, on June 4, the Russian Government extended the deadline for the implementation of the state program "Development of the Military-Industrial Complex" (MIC) until 2036. The document was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
