Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces held a "Russian Tricolor" rally in the liberated Selidovo

In honor of Russia Day, Russian servicemen held a Russian Tricolor rally in the liberated city of Selidovo in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). Soldiers of the 159th military commandant's office, along with motorized rifle units of the 90th Guards Tank Division of the Center group of forces, toured the homes of local residents, congratulated them on the holiday and presented them with ribbons in the colors of the Russian flag. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on Thursday, June 12.

"Today we drove around the city of Selidovo, talked with the local population, and learned how their lives have changed. We congratulated the local population, handed them ribbons in the form of the Russian flag and congratulated them on this significant day. People are willing to communicate, and our servicemen are very welcome. Their lives are getting better," said Deputy military Commander Shamil Asadulaev.

The Defense Ministry stressed that holding such an action is a reminder of the unity of the people, of the connection between Donbass and Russia. Holding such events, as noted in the department, underlines the inextricable link between the army and society, unites people on the basis of a common love for the Motherland.

Earlier that day, Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov, Alexey Zubritsky and Kirill Peskov, while on board the International Space Station (ISS), congratulated Russians on Russia Day.
