Due to rising tensions in the Middle East region amid the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran, Commander of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) Michael Kurilla was forced to postpone his speech before the Senate Armed Services Committee. This was reported on June 12 by CNN.

"General Michael Kurilla, commander of CENTCOM, postponed the testimony he was supposed to give before the Senate committee on Thursday due to tensions," the publication says.

It is noted that CENTCOM is currently monitoring "growing tensions in the Middle East."

A day earlier, Reuters reported that the United States was preparing a partial evacuation of the embassy in Iraq amid the escalation. At the same time, both American and Iraqi sources of the agency did not specify the specific reasons that influenced this decision.
