The exchange of soldiers' bodies between Russia and Ukraine gives hope that the Ukrainian side is able to fulfill its obligations. Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia about this.

Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and head of the Russian delegation at the talks with Ukraine, said that Moscow had transferred 1,212 bodies of dead Ukrainian servicemen to Kiev and received 27 dead soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces.

"This can be considered a confirmation that the bilateral negotiations are yielding certain results. This result is, of course, insufficient to be considered progress in bilateral relations, but at least there is hope that the Ukrainian side is able to meet its obligations, even if not at the pace we originally expected, but with the result that was calculated. that's a good sign," Kosachev said.

He stressed that he was not inclined to exaggerate the significance of the incident, but also did not consider it insignificant.

On June 8, the representative of the Russian negotiating group, Lieutenant General Alexander Zorin, reported that Russia was ready to fulfill all agreements on the exchange of prisoners of war and the transfer of the bodies of dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Zorin emphasized that the transfer of the bodies of the dead soldiers is of a humanitarian nature.
