Corporal Panasenko prevented an APU drone strike on artillery pieces
Corporal Alexander Panasenko provided communications between the artillery units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the command near the front line. When Panasenko's unit moved to new positions, he noticed a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) approaching the Russian guns. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Thursday, June 12, reported on the exploits of the Russian military committed in the area of the special military operation (SVO).
Panasenko reacted instantly: he took aim and fired at the drone with a standard weapon. The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was destroyed, and the artillery pieces were not damaged.
Meanwhile, the unit arrived at a new position. Having received the coordinates of the concentration of AFU forces through communication channels conducted by Corporal Panasenko, the gunners struck the target. As a result, the enemy's offensive attempt was thwarted.
The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the brave and professional actions of Corporal Roman Dyachkov, who was assigned the task of supporting Russian assault groups near a settlement controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy has placed firing points around the settlement, building defenses. Dyachkov, along with his comrades, stealthily approached the position and aimed the mortar at the coordinates of the AFU firing points. With several accurate volleys, the enemy machine-gun crews were eliminated. This allowed the Russian assault groups to approach the enemy stronghold unhindered and clear it, ensuring further work to liberate the settlement.
Earlier, on June 11, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Private Dmitry Astashin was carrying out the task of delivering logistical equipment to units of the Russian Armed Forces at a point near the front line when his car was subjected to mortar and artillery fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
