The United States is preparing to partially evacuate the embassy in Iraq due to threats to regional security. This was reported on June 11 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.

"The United States is preparing a partial evacuation of its embassy in Iraq and will allow military personnel to leave their places of residence in the Middle East due to increased security risks in the region, sources in the United States and Iraq said on Wednesday," the publication says.

At the same time, both American and Iraqi sources of the agency did not specify the specific reasons that influenced this decision.

"The partial evacuation comes amid heightened tensions in the region, which has already been gripped by 18 months of war in the Gaza Strip, raising fears of a broader conflict between the United States and Israel, Iran and its allies," Reuters reports.

Earlier, on April 12, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein expressed hope that the United States and Iran would be able to reach an agreement on the nuclear program at the talks. According to him, Iraq is very "supportive of this process."
