Finland will not send its military contingent to the territory of Ukraine even if a ceasefire is reached in the country. This was announced on June 11 by Finnish President Alexander Stubb in an interview with the Japanese NHK television channel.

"Finland has no plans to send troops to Ukraine right now. Our job is mainly to ensure deterrence in the northeastern part of Europe," he said.

At the same time, Stubb clarified that he expects US President Donald Trump to continue negotiations on the cessation of hostilities.

In May, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said the country would not send soldiers to Ukraine. Sikorski also stressed that Warsaw would not change its position, even if other Western countries decided to participate.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 24 that the deployment of Western military contingents in Ukraine was unacceptable to Russia. He also noted that this initiative poses a critical threat to the security of the whole of Europe.
