The head of the Pentagon noted the benefits of resolving the conflict in Ukraine

The peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is beneficial to the United States, as it serves the national interests of the country. This was announced on June 11 by Defense Minister Pete Hegseth.
"The President [of the United States Donald Trump] is focused on peace in this conflict. Ultimately, the world serves our national interests," Hegseth said at a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee hearing broadcast by CBS News on YouTube.
The United States Secretary of Defense noted that peace in Ukraine would help the country look strong, as well as demonstrate to other countries an understanding of what to focus on.
On the eve of Hegseth, during a hearing in the Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives, said that the US government would reduce the amount of funds in the budget for 2026 intended for the purchase of new weapons and further supplies to Ukraine.
