Poland is preparing to introduce border controls with Germany amid rising migration

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on June 11 that the country's government could introduce partial controls on the border with Germany as early as this summer if the number of migrants crossing the border continues to grow.
"If the situation on the border worsens <...> I will not hesitate when deciding on the introduction of temporary control. It is very likely that we will approve such partial control on the border with Germany in the summer," the Reuters news agency quoted him as saying.
At the same time, Tusk stressed that every group of migrants sent back from Germany would be carefully checked.
"I know all too well what illegal migration means for the future of Poland, for the future of our civilization," he said.
In addition, the Prime Minister did not rule out the possibility of restricting the visa-free regime for some countries whose citizens were associated with criminal incidents in the country.
On May 3, the head of the Federation Council's information policy commission, Alexei Pushkov, said that in Poland, local residents were very tired of Ukrainian refugees and their requests.
In February, Tusk announced that the country would not comply with the European Union (EU) migration pact and accept migrants.
