New Resident Evil, Atomic Heart and exclusive Death Stranding 2: results of Summer Game Fest 2025

Last week, a two-hour broadcast of The Summer Game Fest took place, which was again hosted by The Game Awards organizer Jeff Kiely. Trailers of the most anticipated new products were shown to the public. There were also surprises. All the most interesting things are in this digest.
Resident Evil 9: Requiem
Capcom has finally introduced Resident Evil 9 with the title "Requiem". The next installment of the iconic horror franchise will be released on February 27, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The authors promise that it will be a turning point in the series.
Lies of P: Overture
The addition to the soulslike action RPG Lies of P: Overture serves as a prequel to the main game and immerses gamers in the last days of the city of Krath before the start of the puppet rebellion. "Overture" became available to players synchronously along with the announcement at the festival. The plot reveals new aspects of the world, and those who have already played praise the emotional twists of the narrative.
Dying Light: The Beast
Techland not only introduced a new look at Dying Light: The Beast, but also confirmed that the game will be released on August 22, 2025. This is an independent story in which gamers will be able to play as Kyle Crane again.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Onimusha: Way of the Sword has received a brand new gameplay trailer featuring brutal and bloody battles that have become one of the most anticipated features of the game.
Game of Thrones: War for Westeros
A new real-time strategy game that will allow players to take control of the Great Houses of Game of Thrones, as well as the King of the Night himself. All this is to raise banners, gather legendary heroes and conquer the Seven Kingdoms alone or in exciting multiplayer mode.
Arc Raiders
A multi-player PvPvE shooter with survival elements and extraction mechanics, set in a post-apocalyptic world invaded by ARC robots. The release is scheduled for October 30, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
Mortal Shell 2
At the festival, it was possible to evaluate the trailer for Mortal Shell 2, a continuation of the role—playing action game by Cold Symmetry studio. The authors have planned more dynamic battles, a detailed open world, a new arsenal of weapons and an introduction to a new hero, the Harbinger, who seeks to collect stolen Andermefer eggs. The game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2026.
Killer Inn
Square Enix has unveiled Killer Inn, a new team—based social deductive game somewhat similar to Mafia. The players will find themselves together in a large mansion, but this is by no means a cozy pajama party: the "Wolves" team will have to destroy the "Lambs" team. The intrigue is that the lambs don't know who's on their team, and they have to figure out who wants to kill them and who they can trust.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
Game designer and visionary Hideo Kojima attended Summer Game Fest for the first time, showed a new trailer for the upcoming premiere and introduced two new characters — Lucy and Neil.
Chronicles: Medieval
This mysterious project was unexpectedly announced by actor Tom Hardy, the star of the films "Venom" and "The Dark Knight Rises". A large–scale role-playing game with sandbox elements, which takes place in Europe of the XIV-XV centuries, will be the debut project of the Danish studio Raw Power Games. It consists of industry veterans who previously worked on the hits The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman, GTA and Assassin's Creed.
Atomic Heart 2 and The Cube
Mundfish Studio released Atomic Heart just over two years ago and is already actively working on a sequel to Atomic Heart 2. The game will be released on PC and consoles. Also in development is the mysterious game The Cube, which takes place in the universe of Atomic Heart. It will also be released on PCs and consoles, but there are few details about it yet.
Code Vein 2
The announcement of the sequel to the 2019 action RPG Code Vein was completely unexpected. It will be released in 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Publisher Bandai Namco has unveiled the first trailer, which shows a post-apocalyptic world where the fate of the Revenants and humanity hangs in the balance. Apparently, players can expect dynamic battles, explorable locations, intense boss battles and vibrant characters.
ILL
A really scary trailer for the ILL body horror shooter from Russian developers and Mundfish as a publisher. Players will have to explore the terrifying fort in order to regain what is most important to them.
Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree
Bandai Namco Studio has opened the veil of secrecy over the Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree project. The game will be released on September 19, 2025 on the Nintendo Switch PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and will be gameplay-like Hades. In the story, Tovah, a priestess of Shinju village, embarks on a journey with eight unique Guardians to stop an ancient evil named Magatsu. Magatsu threatens to destroy the balance of the world, and only Towa and her companions can withstand this threat.
Wildgate
Wildgate is a space shooter from Moonshot Games studio, founded by former Blizzard developers. The game has received a release date, July 22, 2025, and has already made a splash among science fiction fans. Wildgate promises dynamic space battles, multiplayer gameplay with an emphasis on tactics and cooperation, rich visual style and thoughtful plot from an experienced team that previously worked on Overwatch, StarCraft 2 and Heroes of the Storm.
