For committing crimes, droppers face financial and digital isolation, bankruptcy, lawsuits, and debts. On June 11, the Department for the Organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia was informed about this.

"The consequences for individuals providing bank accounts, cards, and phone numbers for cashing out and transiting criminal funds are inevitable. Accounts and cards used for transactions with criminal funds are subject to blocking," the agency's Telegram channel says.

It is clarified that, according to amendments to Federal Law No. 115-FZ "On Countering the Legalization (Laundering) of Proceeds from Crime and the Financing of Terrorism," Rosfinmonitoring has the right to suspend suspicious transactions.

In addition, operators can also terminate the operation of numbers that are used in criminal activities. They have also recently been allowed to block rooms that are rented to intruders.

"If it is impossible to pay multimillion-dollar damages for the claims of the victims, the dropper may be declared bankrupt. However, this does not remove the obligation to compensate for harm to life/health and does not eliminate criminal liability. The duty to the victims remains," the agency clarified.

If the dropper is a minor, then the parents will bear civil liability for his crimes.

On the same day, Igor Bederov, director of the Internet Search company, spoke about new fraudulent schemes with deepfakes. The attackers began calling Russians en masse under the guise of opinion polls in order to record their voices for the subsequent creation of fakes.
