In Primorsky Krai, the rules for children's recreation in reservoirs have been tightened. This was reported to PrimaMedia news agency by the press service of the regional government.

Changes have been made to the rules for protecting human life on water bodies. According to the adopted adjustments, children under the age of 14 are now prohibited from swimming and being on beaches unaccompanied by their parents.

The updated rules also prohibit children under the age of seven from being in the water without individual life-saving equipment. In addition, there is a clause prohibiting the leaving of children unattended, regardless of the child's ability to swim.

At a meeting of the regional commission for emergency prevention, local governments were required to form voluntary fire brigades at recreation facilities, create interdepartmental commissions to inspect children's camps, and take strict measures to comply with safety requirements in reservoirs.

On June 2, an 11-year-old boy drowned in the Ussuri River in the town of Lesozavodsk in Primorye. It is known that the child was swimming without adult supervision. The UK has opened a criminal case.
