The participants of the special military operation (SVO) trust the work of the Defenders of the Fatherland State Fund, which means that it provides effective assistance to veterans of the special operation, and they get real results. This was stated on June 11 by Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, at a meeting of the foundation's Supervisory Board in Moscow.

"Today, the evaluation and trust of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation by the veterans of the special military operation themselves is especially important. All of them, having repeatedly contacted the foundation, note the provision of not only advisory and informational assistance, but also support in all matters. <...> 94.6% of the surveyed veterans are well acquainted with the work of the foundation. 88% of them trust the fund," Kiriyenko said.

Also, 86% of veterans stated that they were satisfied with the help and support provided to them by the fund, noting that they received everything they expected. Another 72.8% assessed the fund's support as substantial: that is, they received not just advisory or informational assistance, but more significant.

The most sought-after types of assistance provided by the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation include the appointment of social support measures, cash payments related to participation in the military, as well as legal assistance and obtaining a combat veteran's certificate or a family member's certificate of a deceased combat veteran. According to the results, more than 96% of the participants' requests have been resolved.

As noted by Anna Tsivileva, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, Chairman of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, such results were achieved through a unique approach to interacting with veterans and family members of the participants of the SVR — a social coordinator is assigned to each applicant. There are 4,000 of them working across the country, including more than 1,000 of the heroes of the SVR and their relatives, who know firsthand about the needs of the defenders.

"The main result of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation's work is the creation of a fundamentally new system of social support for our heroes. It is based on close interagency cooperation, an individual approach, and caring for each defender or relative of the deceased hero. The high level of trust of SVO veterans and their loved ones is an important indicator of the foundation's activities," stressed Anna Tsivileva.

On May 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to expand the powers of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation to support military personnel with disabilities in sports. The Russian leader stressed that attention should not be slackened to participants with disabilities, as they may need support.
