- Russian-speaking residents of Finland have appealed against the suspension of postal services from the Russian Federation

The Alexander Society, an organization of Russian-speaking residents of Finland, has once again appealed against the termination of postal services with Russia and Belarus. The company announced this on June 11 in the Telegram channel.
"Last week, we filed a lawsuit with the Helsinki Administrative Court, where we challenged Traficom's decision not to renew Finland's postal service with Russia and Belarus," the publication says.
They recalled that the Finnish Posti stopped postal communication with these countries in April 2022.
Representatives of the society clarified that they sent their first appeal to Posti in June 2024, and in November they also sent a letter to the Agency for Transport and Communications (Traficom). In January of this year, Russian—speaking residents of Finland appealed to three authorities at once - the Prosecutor's Office of Southern Finland, the United Nations Postal Union and sent an appeal to the Chancellor of Justice of the country.
In particular, the deputies of the Finnish Parliament were informed about the situation.
On December 21, 2024, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo announced that the Finnish-Russian border would remain closed until a way was found to conclude an agreement on the opening of border posts.
